This past weekend I attended my first comic con with my own table (wasn't sharing buddy Todd's table for once, although I did ask to put next to him, like Linus and his blanket). It was a great experience. Both myself and colorist son sat behind our table, presenting our hard work to the masses. The turn out was much greater than any one imagined. It had a nice vibe with people that were comic minded. And I almost sold out of my very limited run of my SPECIAL EDITION.
How can anyone complain about that?
Met some really cool people and had some nice comments on the book. While I didn't get everyone's name (sorry I'm not much of a salesman and slightly introverted) I thank everyone of you that bought a book. Of those I did get to know, thank you to Travis (of Atrophy Comics, whose CANADA JACK book was a great read), Travis was my first sale of the day. And whose conversation helped calm down my nerves of being there. Bruce & Chris of CHUBBY WIZARD podcast who came over thanks to Travis. And to Seth & Lucas of the comic shop I frequent THE INNER GEEK. Despite my bi-monthly trip to the shop, neither one knew I was producing a comic. Like I said, not much of a guy that jumps on his own soapbox to announce to the world. I appreciate it so much that you all wanted to read my story. I know $7 was a bit. But at 62 pages & free print, I really tried to make it a good value.
Working on issue #3 today. Closer and closer...
